How Do I Book A Session?

Now that you want to book a session with Flaherty Photography, first thing is I will need to collect some customer information from you. You will need to fill out the Session Contract Form. Please read through my studio policies then submit. Next, once I receive your form back, we will set a date and time for the type of session you need. Then, in order to officially schedule your session on the calendar, I will then need to collect the session fee. I will send you an invoice via email where you have the option to pay with a credit card online -OR- you can let me know you want to mail a check so I know it's coming. If you send a check, I will email you a retainer fee paid invoice for your records. The session fee will need to be paid within 5 days to avoid losing your spot.

What Type Of Session Do I Need?

I offer mini and full sessions. If you are just looking for a few updated photos, then the mini session is perfect! Since you receive fewer images with the mini sessions, please note if you have more than 2 kids, you may want to schedule a full session since there isn't wiggle room for individual pictures for more than 2 kids.  If you book a full session, I do allow mixing of different poses within the family.   (Ex: mom/dad, mom/dad/kids, just the kids, each kids separately, etc.)  For newborn sessions, I offer both mini and full sessions. Each comes with a set time frame, set number of digital images included and a print release as well.

What Comes After My Session...

After your session is done and all your images are complete, you will receive a link via email to view your gallery of images as well as the option to download your images with the print release within 2 weeks of your session.Please be sure to "LIKE" Flaherty Photography's Facebook page!  This is where I will post sneak peek pics from your session and where you can "LIKE" the post, tag your name(s) and be able to share it to your wall for your friends and family to see! Your gallery will be live for 2 weeks and you will have many print/product options to order online if you desire. This is optional if you wish.  If you do decide to place an order, there is a $50 order minimum and most orders are delivered to you within 3 weeks.


        - Re-posting Online Gallery:  If your online gallery expires and you wish to have it back up longer or to place an order, there is a $25 re-posting fee, and the $50 minimum still applies. If you have any family that would like to order from your online gallery, you can allow them to do so while it is live. If I receive an order that isn't from my clients directly, I will contact you to get verbal permission to process it.  If you haven't given permission for the order, it will be cancelled immediately.


        -Rescheduling:  Sometimes you can't foresee when someone will get sick or if a child will be uncooperative.  In the event someone in the session gets sick before the session takes place, please notify me as soon as possible or at least 24 hours in advance, and I will work with you to find a new date to re-shoot.  In the event that during the session, a child is uncooperative and I am not able to get any shots, there will be a re-shoot fee of $50 and we can reschedule to another date and time. Please be sure you are scheduling your session in a good time where all kids are happy and not near nap or meal times.  I do encourage all parents to bring snacks or bribes to the session. We will do whatever it takes to get some smiles!  (Even if it means we have to act completely goofy!)

        -Retainer/Deposits:  All sessions require a non -refundable deposit to be paid in full at the time of booking within 3 days, with the remaining balance due 7 days prior to the session date, and Newborn sessions remaining balance will be due upon arrival of newborn session.  These session fees covers all my time prepping for your session, emails, location scouting (if applicable), getting my camera gear ready, my time during your session, all photo editing and prepping for your galleries, as well as your digital images that you receive as part of your all inclusive package.  Once your fees are paid, they are non-refundable.  If you need to reschedule, please see my rescheduling policy above and we can find another date/time and your fee will roll over.  In the event you are booking a session within a two week time frame, the full session fee will be due upon booking.

        -Sick Policy:  For all newborn/baby sessions that take place in my home studio, I do not allow sick babies due to the nature of the session.  I must keep my studio a sick-free zone.  This applies to the parents, siblings and myself as well.  I disinfect and clean my studio every day, please help me in keeping germs at bay.  If you or baby gets sick, please notify me as soon as possible to reschedule your session.  For all outdoor sessions, if someone in your family is ill enough and you aren't comfortable going through with the session, we can also reschedule if needed so that everyone is feeling their best!

         -Traveling Fees:  I typically shoot within 20 miles of Altoona zip 50009.  Locations that are between 21-40 miles of Altoona are $25, and locations between 41-60 miles of Altoona are $40.  Any locations further than 60 miles away will be calculated at the time of booking.        

        -Payment options:  Flaherty Photography accepts all major credit cards, checks and cash.  The invoice I email has the payment option built into it for your convenience.  Any check returned from the bank, for any reason, will be charged a $30.00 service fee and all orders will be cancelled if not paid in full until the balance is paid within three days of being notified by Flaherty Photography.  If needed, a payment plan can be set up for you, and must be paid in full before session takes place.          

        -Photo Storage:  Flaherty Photography will store your session images for 2 years after your session takes place. If at any point you need to order a replacement of your session images, there is a $300 fee.  I encourage all my clients to be sure to make a secondary back up of all files as soon as possible.  Once you receive your digital images, Flaherty Photography is not responsible for any loss or damages to your images.  Please take special care of your images!  I encourage all my clients to back at least two back ups of their images (one on a disk/usb, and the other on an external hard drive or cloud drive).        

        -Re-touching:  I automatically do minor re-touching of images in my editing process (small facial scars, minor facial blemishes).  I prefer to keep everyone looking very natural and as beautiful as they are in person.  When I am finished editing your images, they will be delivered to you as so.  All images are copyrighted to Flaherty Photography and no further editing or adding of any filters can be done after images are delivered. If you have a special editing request, please discuss with Shanna prior to your session to see what can or can't be done.                   

        -Additional People:  Additional people per session is $25 each.  Please refer to each session listing to see how many is allowed in that session.        

        -Refunds: In the event that you need to cancel your session, the policy is as follows: If we can not find an adequate make up date and time, the initial session fee is non-refundable.  Please understand that I am taking time away from my family to be with you and yours, and I have blocked the time frame for you.  I can not find another client in a short time frame to fulfill your spot. Beyond this, refunds are only given at the discretion of Shanna Flaherty based upon the circumstance given.
